Protect your data firstKeep a current off-server backup before reinstalling, updating, changing firewall rules, or running an application installer.
Before you connect
Wait until the service page shows Ready. A VPS can be active while an optional application is still finishing. Keep the initial credentials private and never paste them into public chat.
First-login checklist
- Confirm the service IP and hostname in your client panel.
- Connect using SSH or the browser console supplied for the service.
- Create a separate administrator account when your operating system supports it.
- Apply current security updates before exposing applications.
- Allow only the network ports you actually use. Keep a working recovery path before changing SSH or firewall rules.
- Point DNS only after the intended service is listening.
- Create and test a backup before importing production data.
If access fails
Check the VPS power state, IP address, SSH port, local network restrictions, and firewall rules. Use the browser console for recovery when SSH is unavailable. Do not repeatedly reinstall the operating system: reinstalling erases the server disk. Open a support ticket when identity or network state cannot be verified.
